As part of the commitment of UPS to support communities and organizations of benefit to all Chileans, The UPS Foundation, the philanthropic branch of UPS which directs civic programs at the global level, has donated US$10,000 to the school Escuela de Educación Especial Andalué, and the same amount to the children’s home Casa Belén.
The first of these institutions is located in the district of Maipu and offers high quality education in a healthy environment to students with learning disabilities. The donation from The UPS Foundation will help more than 250 students, going towards improving employee training areas. The Casa Hogar Niños de Belén is one of the three institutions that make up the Fundación San José para la Adopción. Located in San Bernardo, it provides accommodation to more than 250 children under the age of five. The foundation will use this donation to repair the building’s electrical system.
The Human Resources Manager at UPS Chile, Sandra Villalobos, said “we are very proud to support the valuable work done every day by the Escuela de Educación Especial Andalué and the children’s home Casa Belén in providing under resourced children and adolescents a better quality of life”.
