The practice of working remotely and the application of online testing are just some of the issues analyzed during the event “People, Culture and Technology: A Win-Win Alliance”, organized by the AmCham Human Capital Committee. Presentations were given by the General Manager of Cisco, Gabriel Calgaro, and Senior Associate at Spencer Stuart, Juan Pablo Solar.
The business executives examined the key tools for achieving balance between productivity and happiness in the workplace, as well as how the success of these goals is based on accountability and self-management. There were more than 40 participants in attendance, the majority of whom work in human resources. Each had the chance to learn about the Cisco experience in working remotely and how the practice has had a positive impact on the organization. In addition, the executive from Spencer Stuart consultants discussed an online test which aims to identify priorities and abilities, as well as soft skills. The idea behind the test, he noted, is to gauge whether workers fit with what companies are looking for today in terms of human capital.
