The Commercial Service of the US Embassy, in collaboration with AmCham and SOFOFA, has staged the seminar “Investing in the United States: A world of opportunities”. The event formed part of the US government program SelectUSA, which seeks to secure foreign capital in the country. Accordingly, the seminar outlined various advantages for foreigners looking to invest and do business in the United States.
The opening remarks were made by the President of the Chilean Federation of Industry (SOFOFA), Hermann von Mühlenbrock; Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy, Dale B. Eppler; and AmCham President, Kathleen Barclay.
The seminar covered the central aspects relating to investing in the United States, including: the investment climate in the country, past experience of Chilean investors, the legal and tax frameworks, types of visas for investors, and incentives provided by certain US states for foreign investors, among others.
