COPEC S.A. enters the United States following purchase of the retail entity Delek US

The Chilean gasoline corporation, Compañía de Petróleos de Chile, Copec S.A., and the US-based Delek US Holdings, Inc. have entered into a definitive purchase agreement through which the former will acquire 100% of the equity of MAPCO Express, Inc. and four affiliated companies. The transaction, worth US$535 million, was unanimously approved by the boards of both companies and is expected to be finalized by the last quarter of 2016. MAPCO is a chain of service stations and convenience stores that operates 348 sales points, primarily in the US states of Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia, but which also has presence in Arkansas, Virginia, Kentucky and Mississippi. Furthermore, it supplies gasoline to 142 service stations operated by third parties and provides fuel transport logistics to MAPCO and other entities.
