Janet Awad, Regional Chair of Sodexo Latin America and Country President, Sodexo Chile; Katia Trusich, Head of Corporate Affairs at Grupo CGE; and Francisco Ulloa, Managing Director West Coast of South America (Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia) at Maersk Line have been elected by members of the Chilean-American Chamber of Commerce, AmCham Chile, to form part of the chamber’s Board of Directors. In addition, Charles Kimber, Head of Trade and Corporate Affairs at Arauco, and Guillermo Carey, Partner at Carey Abogados, were elected for a second term as Board member. As a consequence, 42% of the Board is now made up of women.
The election process took place via electronic voting in which member companies expressed their preferences from among eight candidates. Five new directors were elected, four of whom correspond to the annual renewal of one third of the Board as stipulated by AmCham Chile’s statutes, plus a fifth who joined to replace a member who had resigned from the company for which they were elected. Directors can be re-elected only once.
The recently elected members will take up their positions on the Board in January 2017 and will remain in the post until December 2019.
