President of Telefónica Chile
Claudio Muñoz is an industrial civil engineer from the University of Chile. He joined Telefónica in October 1986 (at that time, Compañía de Teléfonos de Chile) as an analyst in the Finance area. In 1993 he carried out an international training program in the United States, at Southwestern Bell Corp. In 1994 he was appointed manager of accounting and budgeting, in 1996 he was vice president of management control and in 1999 general manager of Telefónica CTC Chile. In 2005 he settled in Spain as head of the Telefónica Division to manage corporate clients in the Americas and, at the same time, responsible for the group’s wholesale division worldwide. In 2010 he returned to Chile as president of Telefónica in Chile. He is also president of the Fundación Telefónica, director of ICARE, the Protectora de la Infancia, Fundación País Digital, the Senior Management Network, the private director of the Strategic Investment Fund of Chile (FIE) and advisor to the National Commission of Productivity.
