Guillermo Carey is a lawyer from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and has a proven track record in the area of intellectual property, data protection, information technology and electronic commerce. He has been director of AmCham Chile since 2014, position from which he was responsible for the Committee on Innovation and Intellectual Property, leading – together with the members of the committee – monitoring the reform of the Personal Data Protection Law, the promotion of innovation and development, “Tu Creación Vale” program and other initiatives related to innovation and technology transfer. He is also Legal Counsel of Crystal Lagoons, where he has participated in the global expansion of the company; particularly to start operations in the United States between 2011 and 2012. He has advised Chilean companies with high impact in the transfer of technology and its internationalization. In addition, he has been recognized as a Leading Lawyer in Intellectual Property and Pharmaceutical and Regulatory Law by Chambers Latin America and also as Best Individual Lawyer in Intellectual Property by Client Choice Guide, among other distinctions. He is the author of several local and foreign publications, as well as being a member of the Board of Endeavor.
